UK Kill Bill no 5.1...

Why does the Us Kill Bill (vol 1 clearly) have 5.1 but the UK release not?

Got this from Play.com no 5.1, e-mailed, they mentioned it was not 5.1 but would take it back despite it not being advertised. How very nice of them.

Without thinking i got it from HMV damn expensive without reading the back, again no 5.1, took it back.

Generally talking with friend in the US, this came up, he said i have it with 5.1, after a little back and fourth, he checked. Back then Play.com was selling Kill Bill US release, looked on the site and sure enough 5.1 listed.

Why do we not have it? Or does anyone know of a place i can get it where it does.

Ok totally confused now, checked playusa.com and it is not released yet, Either i have been spun a yarn or he has it by other means, in this case again how does it have 5.1, it now does not mention this on playusa's site.

US & UK releases very often have different Sound configurations, This is sometimes because of the amount of space being limited on Region 2 releases due to all the different subtitles required in Europe.

One question though, How could you have bought Kill Bill in HMV or Play and returned it? It's not released in the UK till APRIL 2004 ?

As far as I'm aware Buena Vista haven't released full details of the UK release yet although it's expected to be very similar to the US release which I believe is DD 5.1 and DTS. It's not due til April as already mentioned.

I know myself it is not out yet as i am waiting.. something has gone horribly worng in my said head.

The UK often gets shaffted and the real sound (DTS) is missing on R2 discs, R1 gets it and all we get is DD 5.1, it's just one of the farces of DVD's and the so called world market, who else would produce 5 versions of the same bloody thing just other than to piss people off :grr:
