Winamp in Xbox?

OK I want to have winamp on my xbox, is it available (Im pretty sure this is a no!) and could it ever be?

Ok I no the answers to the above are most likely no so here's my question. I want to be able to have a playlist of all of my mp3s that are located on a hard drive on another pc on the network. From here I want to be able to press one keyboard button (on an Xbox keyboard or, alternatively use some virtual keyboard on the standard Xbox controller) and type in the name of the song and be able to play it straight away (nice if it had visualisations

). This is much like winamps 'j' feature where you can search a playlist of 1000's of songs instantaneously. Does this exist/will it? What's the closest I can get?

Xbox Mediaplayer does playlists but you cant search by title. But as its more or less the only player out there its not really a question of choice.

winamp on xbox- unlikely in the short term. If the Windows Xbox project has progress it may work, but that seem a long way of. There's always hope.

You could run the PC emulator and then run Winamp from there. Doubt it would work very well though ;-\

why is it so crucual? you can play mp3 and just about every other media form on earth with xboxmedia player/centre

winamp itself isnt at all but a playlist with thousands of songs accessible like the j feature in winamp is very important otherwise it will be a hassle changing songs.

im not sure about typing in the same of a song each time, sounds like more hassle than just browsing albums

although u can make playlists for xbmp/c too i think

Yup, you can make playlists in XBMP - no doubt XBMC supports it too

kjun you used j on winamp? Personally once I used it I couldn't go back. Out of 6500 songs I can get anyone immediately and I don't download in albums really.

i for one have used winamp for about 5 years and today was the first time ive pressed j on it, cant say ill ever press it again tho but i can see the usefulness of it, maybe you should suggest it in the mediaplayer/centre section on X-S
