Default Painkiller & Nvidia: The way it can ONLY be played..

Anyone else seeing Painkiller SP Demo running AMAZINGLY slow on aTI cards??

I played the Alpha and it was fast, the latest release is just SOOOO slow. I'm running a P4 3.06Ghz, 1Gig DDR and Radeon 9800XT so it's not my machine..
I'm thinking they toned down the speed on ATI cards after they partnered with NVIDIA. :nowords:

Anyone else seeing ATI cards running this slowly?

Works fine on my 9800 mate, looks beautifull too, i'm using the omega drivers though and not the official catalyst ones (www.omegacorner.com)

    but defo not NVidia specific.

it might be to do with your Cat's.. you maybe upgraded them and they run that game slower

drivers bit hit and miss recently with certain games.. as i've experienced with Far Cry possibly

    Hmmm.

You guys are right.. much better!

I also found a BIG bug in Painkiller though - start a game in your supported graphics res. (1280 x 1024) - use the temple level cos it works the best.. play for a min, and then reduce the graphics res to 800 x 600. Resume game and see what happens.. I get about a third the frame rate after reducing the res!
