Also it can't have been that urgent since this was posted three weeks ago.
You can't convert a MIDI file (afaik) as it isn't a sound file but a set of instructions to yer pc (or mobile fone etc) to play different instruments. That's the info I got the last time I looked into it anyway.
Although you could of course record it using line in, but then that's not strictly converting it.
yeah coogy - midi just stores the notes and the instrument, not the actual sound
record through linein or a proggy that can record streaming audio

you could try exporting the midi file with sound forge, im not sure if it would do it coz its a long time since i used it, tell you what i will try and let you know, come to think of it wont nero media palyer convert it ?
we`ll see
No, as a MIDI is not a sound file. I tried allsorts in the past when I wanted to shorten some MIDI's to use on me mobile, but no sound editing software would recognise it. Only program I could get to cut them down was PSM player (used for editing & playing Samsung ringtones). This program will convert them, but only to ppf files, which are used by Samsung phones, not to an audio format.
cake walk will let you do that, but you need to know a small amount about music to understand how it works. (a very small amount)
the way i do it is start cakewalk recording, the midi plays through my keyboard (music style one not compuer one) so that whatever musician is playing knows what to play cos he can hear the folk alreday recorded, except i plug the keyboard into line in so it is really just recording that, then you export the audio track to .wav and do whatever you want with it
