Grundig R100 Locked

I have asked before but no joy, so maybe someone who knows can help this time. Grundig R100 is locked and displays "SAFE". It will not let me enter the code in the normal AS button way. I have left the radio power on for 10 hours to see if it will reset, it hasn't. I have the code. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

After a continuous non interrupted period of 10 hours the radio should be ready for code entry.
Turn on the car ignition switch fully on, red indicator light displayed.
Hold AS button and switch on radio. You will hear a BLEEP, display will show a number 10 - 1 - - - - . Enter code and press AS.

Thanks but it still reads "SAFE" the timeout does not seem to work. No bleep or code entry display. Any ideas?

Any ideas on this. Tried leaving ignition on again Ken but it definately does not work.

Safe means that the five chances to enter the code u have on this model have been used up, you need either to remove the IC4xx from the radio and replace it, or another way is to freeze the radio believe it or not which often then clears the nv ram and the allows u to enter the code again.

It is possible that when you removed the radio the front panel has come away from the support frame. Remove the top panel and check that the ribbon cable attatched to the front panel is still fully located in its socket mounted on the circuit board. If not relocate it and the AS button will now operate allowing you to enter the code.
