    Are u getting full communication between the printer and the cartridge? You can normally test this in the driver. If they are not communicating correctly it may report them out of ink. Also are you using authentic HP carts?

    I dont know how to stop the messages but why is it reporting it wrong if they are not empty??

    Comms is fine and the printer works perfectly ok. Its not reporting them as empty, just low.

    It just seems that HP have decided that they will bombard me with warnings in the hope that I will throw my carts away even tho they've got a few 100 pages left in em!

    It not a major problem, just annoying that I have to click away the warning every time I print..........

    Im suspect there is a registry flag i can turn on/off..................any ideas?

    This is for a DeskJet 895cxi but the tool box should be the same

    If you turn off the bidirectional communication in your printer driver, the print quality will not be affected. However, some of the advanced features of the Status Monitor or HP Toolbox will be disabled:

    * You will no longer receive reminders to align the print cartridges after a new print cartridge is installed.
    * You will no longer receive error messages associated with the print cartridges.
    * You will no longer receive error messages associated with the banner lever.

    To disable Bi-Directional Communications, follow these steps,

    * Click Start and then click Run.
    * At the prompt run the program HPFCFG15.EXE
    * Click Continue in the message window.
    * Remove the X next to Print Cartridge Query and Bi-directional Communication.
    * Click OK.
    * Click Restart Windows.
