have you gone into bios to make sure the system sees the new drive then it needs formatted etc what operating system are you goinf=g to use.
:kissass  Hmm I wonder which 3 this is ????
You will get that message because the harddrive will have no system on it. Have you replaced the hard drive that was already in or added another??
I have replaced my old harddrive, how do I get a a new system on this or get into my bios to see if it is recognised.
First step is go into bios and set it to auto to look for the new drive if it finds it it will depend on what os you are going to use to get into the bios watch the screen and press the key it tells you to run setup useualy del or f10 for me use a dos boot disk and if xp set the pc to boot from cd first in the bios and use the xp setup disc this should format to ntfs for you and then install windows i hope

Thanks for the help guys, I now have the new hard drive up and running and now consider myself to be a pro technician.
