Sky Dish / on digital box

A friend has just given me his old sky digital dish and receiver, however he nolonger has the card for the receiver.

Is it possible to connect the dish to my on digital box.

My ondigital signal is crap and i lose most channels after about 9pm, they just crack up all the time.

If it is not possible is there anything i can do with the sky receiver to make it work without the card.

it won't help for freeview, try the sat forum if you can make use of the sky dish and receiver

Possible help for freeview, try plug the aerial cable into a vcr first and then into the ondigital box from the vcr - it helps keep my signal stable.
