Also releasing a modification for one of the most popular games consoles in the world made by one of the biggest companies in the world can generate interest.

Im afraid your all wrong, DFs wasnt created by raptor at all. (I know he will confirm this) I know the guy who originally came up with the name and created the original forums over on ezboard.com.

His name is newy (ironic) he was joint admin at all-forums or all-tech as it was known then, at the time modshack (then cableshack) were rivals with all-tech and were constantly arguing so newy left all-tech and made his own forums "digital-forums" he brought some members from there and some members from the thoic.com forums (for those that dont know thoic.com was the biggest forums at the time and concentrated on hacking sky but then it came out that lee who was the thoic admin was actually working for sky, therefor any development made by the people on thoic trying to hack sky was reported back to sky) So when thoic closed some members went to digital forums and some to modshack

The actual forums that your on now was orignally a partnership between newy and raptor but newy sold a few ondigital cards and was kicked out

He lives near me and works on some dev stuff these days

I think I have also stumbeled across a mystery?

If you list the members by join date.... you will find many members who joined DF in late 1999/early 2000. However, virtually all of dissappeared in 2002!

Also.... all of the long serving members still posting today have join dates of oct/nov 2000 (which is the same time that Raptor joined)?

Could it be that in 2002 raptor systematically killed everybody that joined DF before he did?
Perhaps this should be a thread for "UFO's, Aliens, the Paranormal and Conspiracies" :nowords:

BTW... check out "Baghdad Bob" Join date. Dunno who he was... but he obviously was ahead of his time!

newy asked me if I would help him setup DF and pay for all the sever costs. I registered the domain and we began. About 1 month in he seemed to have upset a lot of people and left. I took over from there - making it was it is today (with the help of many fine individuals and freinds)

We merged with isonews database about 3 years ago and trimmed about 90% of the fat off. What you see here is the remainder

its january 1970 to anyone who cba looking, thats the unix eunich(sp?) that is the start date for all unix timestamps which are the number of seconds after january 1970, making calculations easier cos it is just a number of seconds and not something like 23:45.34 34/5/23 which would be confusing to work with

being at t=0 suggests that the server did not have a date/time set at the time he signed up or that something went wrong when his join date was stored in the database causing it to deafult to 0
