Default yes had enough of pc and now its buggered

yes pc got stupid with the files going missing, so i decided to reinstall windows and after it formatted, and was half way through copying the files over for windows it started saying it couldng read the files............i could understand if it was an old copy that might be scratched, but its not...........it was a fresh copy, and i could understand if it was a dodgy copy that i had..........but i hadd 2 separate copies downloaded and used and they both buggered up at the same point...........so what do i do now cuz it all seems to be knackered

Try letting XP redo the install partition and pull out any USB devices before U begin the install.

When does it fall over exactly? doing the initial blue screen yellow text install file copy bit or later when the mouse is active?

I've just checked your previous thread and think the drive could well be bad.
I'd check the manufacturers website for disc testing utils actually m8. There should be some tools for testing the drive using a boot floppy to generate an error code to use for an RMA no.

i did a reinstall of windows m8 an it kept stoppin at 17%, changed the drive an still the same, after a couple of hour and with every non essential part unplugged i still had no luck, it turned out to be the ram. after installing windows i put it back in and it ran ok but would not install with that stick of ram? wierd eh but you could try that.
