Try it and find out.... :nowords: :whistle
It all depends on the server settings and also the way you connect (via Gamespy etc).. most of these have lists of CD keys which are 'out there' and wont let you connect if you have one.. others actually check the size of the exe file before allowing connection....
And some just let you in... :thumbs
- Plan for Tomorrow - Live for today - Hail to the King Baby -
Go out and buy it .. like I did .. only £17.99 from that good DVD store in Guernsey, I love PLAYing it ...
downloaded this yesterday, get an "unknown error" message when i try to play online if anyone finds out a fix please pm me
The game requires 2 keys. One for installing the game and the other for logging into Novaworld. You also need seperate keys to play it across a LAN.
If I can recommend any online war game then it would be this one. I consider it to be much better than Battlefield. Had a blast whilst I was a beta tester for it.
When I get time I will buy this myself.
It's worth every penny to go out an buy a legit version.
Online play is awesome, with some massive battles but most of all, its a good laugh, something thats missing from most games.
Our 48 Player CO-OP server is the ideal place to learn the game.
If you fancy a blast then have a looksie here;

If it's a 'backup' then you'll still have the original cd-key, won't you? If you've 'lost' your 'backup' then you'll need to buy a new one.... :whistle
im having real problems getting this game online (legit copy!) it hangs on the novaworld connecting screen, ive opened my router ports but nothing :grr:
can anyone help as the novaworld forums are W@nk
I normally get that with my firewall. It sits in the background waiting for authorisation and sometimes I can't alt-tab to it. Very annoying....
See if you can alt-tab to it.
i tried disabling my firewall, even tried uninstalling the fooker, nothing worked
I haven't played it for a couple of weeks because the International Servers were down and wouldn't let me log in. I've been playing it today though and all seems well again.
Try it again now.
I did have a lot of problems with JO when I first played it in it's beta form.
I couldn't connect to Novaworld for love nor money but found that Norton Firewall just sat in the background waiting for permission to allow it to connect. Bloody annoying thing about it was that it happened everytime I updated the beta version.
Dave - You may have already looked but if not, check this to make sure that the program file for JO (I think it is JOINTOPS.exe) and even the update file (UPDATE.EXE) is not in the list of blocked programs within the firewall program. Apparently, even with the firewall program turned off it may still be getting blocked. Sounds mad but people have reported this.
Obviously, this is only applicable if you have a software firewall, such as Norton or similar. Let me know and I'll help the best I can.
if your using a router there are ports that need to be open for playing online
i have them in my router config but i cant be arsed getting them unless you need them so write me here
