Suggestions nad help

After getting 2 4001 boxes with cards an elvis programmer and learning the basics of modifying cutting the talkback. Then unfortunatly i became really busy now about 2 months later i have come back to the task at hand.
I am intending on just making the fun cards which i believe are the easiest to do.

i believe i cant get the bk from the db or via lib so this is my reasoning for needing a ccard reader.

i need suggestions what other materials i need.
- i beleive i need a rom10/11 reader (maybe writer)
- i need a screw driver for opening the boxes

can someone recomend me a reader or anything else i need and i should be able to do the rest from the noviceangel guide.

Power the boxes up with the cards in WITHOUT the cable attatched and hold down the up and down buttons while they boot. DIAG should come up on the display and U should see the engineers menu on screen. Flicker thro to page 7 where it should tell U what revision the cards are (depending on sw ver).
From that we should be able to tell U if you're gonna have to lift the atmels out or if U can read the cards m8.

Most readable cards I've seen have had fake details on nowadays from when the subscription ended so good luck m8.

forget about the rom7 for now but i think you may be able to get bk off it? but the rom 10 a16 is fine to use and the rom11 b01 is also. use ne4 on them to dump and save img just incase they have bk still on em for whatever box? you will need to check this by reading ird num off top of scart can (inside box) see if it match's ird of the card dump's

right. i aint got a rom 10/11 reader yet as i didnt know if i only needed a reader or also needed a writer. what do u recomend? and which company do u guys recomend.

i have the guides but they all say to get the ird via libby. I thought it might be available through the engineers menu but im not sure or do i have to ge it from the dump once i copy the card.
