Default GTA Not On GameCube, Says Nintendo

GTA Not On GameCube, Says Nintendo

David Gosen, Managing Director at Nintendo of Europe has confirmed what many critics have been predicting - even with San Andreas creeping around the corner, Nintendo still do not want to introduce Grand Theft Auto to the GameCube.

Gosen commented that GTA is a violent game and "a dead-end street". We all know Nintendo as a colorful game developer, but we have to remember that Resident Evil was introduced to the GameCube in 2002, and with the game industry releasing more and more violence-oriented games, you have to ask yourself, how long will Nintendo last?

Isn't GTA on the Nintendo Gameboy Advance? Funny That...

Speaking of which, Anthony Jones of Jacksonville, Florida faces 15 years of his life in jail after shouting "there's a bomb in the building - everyone needs to get out" while playing GTA on his GBA in a restaurant. At the same time, he was speaking to his co-worker on his phone, which misunderstood what Jones was referring to. Jones' co-worker then called the cops, who of course weren't too happy to hear they'd been rushed over for nothing more than a game of GTA on a GameBoy Advance...

If Rock* replaced Vercetti with Mario, then I bet David Gosen would want it on Gamecube then

Really i'm suprised its available on any system, a game about carjackings, robberies, assassinations, drugs, murder, killing and prostitution. The amount of kids that play this game, even posh kids and their parents don't have a clue of the games content. My mate used to work at toys r us when vice city came out and the amount of parents that brought the game and then passed it straight to their 10 year old spoilt little brats was unbelievable.

Maybe nintendo are trying to cater for all the lazy parents who can't be bothered to check if a game is suitable for their children or not.

well, I'll say this - they care about their market... they don't want the younger audience having a chance of getting near this game

It shows they aren't just interested in the money I suppose too, since if it came out on Gamecube it would make a lot of money
