I am assuming this is a basic PVR that just records a video signal much like video recorders used to. I have seen a Panasonic one (Only available in the US) which does a good job but it uses teletext to set recordings.

You got any links to the model that is on offer?

There's a few Digital Video Recorders knocking about at the moment, which is to riival Sky + I guess with Freeview box.

Some makes I've seen is Fusion, Humax and Thompson. Prices vary from around £160 upwards. At the moment they all seem to have small Hard drives around £40 gig.

I found some people who have upgraded the Fusion DVDR to a 120gig hdd but there seems to be issues with certain drives with regards to power consumption, rpms and size.

I'm thinking the HUMAX is probably the cheapest one on the market, but not read about anyone upgrading the hdd to 120 gig etc yet.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I've upgraded the Humax to a Maxtor 120GB. No problems.
