Adobe photoshop layers

I have opened a photo in photoshop and using the layers pallet have put some text and colour layers on it which is fine but now i want to add a new layer on but another photo on top but cant see anywhere to add a photo to the layers pallet i have looked at the help in adobe but cant see it if someone could point me in the right direction it would be great

To add another photo to your first one as layers >>open your second photo>>>use the rectangular marquee tool to highlight the area you want>>>go to the edit menu and select copy >>go back to your first photo and paste it there. Click F7 brings up the layers menu.Hope that helps.
