Hooking wi-fi into existing LAN

Hi,
wonder if someone can tell me how to hook up a new wifi laptop to an existing wired lan, so that it can access the internet.

Machines on the wired lan can access internet ok on a 10M thinwire network (main pc has an adsl usb modem + standard network card + wifi card), and i've got laptop talking to the main pc via wifi (file share). But I can't get the lappy running with the internet. access. I've tried 'bridging' the main pc wifi card but no luck.

Yes it would be simpler to buy a wifi adsl router plus wifi cards for the other pc's, but not it's not cost effective at the moment.

File sharing works ok!

How do the other pcs access the internet? are you using a proxy server or internet connection sharing?

Have you configured TCP/IP on the laptop to be part of the network?

and set the proxy details in Internet explorer properties?

Make sure you've assigned a static IP address in the same subnet as all the PCs. Also make sure that your laptop is on the list of trusted ip addresses on your internet PC's firewall...
