Getting A Box Second box (Need help on model no)

Hi ive currently got a 4001N box which works perfectly , but im getting another one now and need some advice

Im looking on ebay for a 4001 or 4010 box (im in a davic area , coventry)

All the 4010's are going at ridiculous prices, so im just wondering if a

4001NC will work ina Davic Area , ive read the Rizzo guides but it doesnt go into detail about the number at the end , what does NC mean

Right carrying on from the post above RE: Risso guide......

I bought a NTL 1000 box off a couple of guys working in my street last week (£40 :thumbs ) but the box I use is a 2000, and going by risso's guide these two will not work together?

Is this right?

NC is the latest revision of the 4001 series I think. They've slowly been taking uneccessary components out with each revision so the 4001NC has only 1 card slot, no phonos, no parallel socket and a few other small differences.
As regards to modding a 4001NC it's the same as the rest of the 4001 series, 2 Atmels to read and talkback in the tuner can.

Generally speaking Lampshade, the engineers only carry boxes for their own area so I'd expect the box to work if it's come from a local engineer.

@Lamp. You should not have any probs with the 1000 at all. The only time that you have to make adjustments is when transfering the 1k or 2k models to different area. IE tw to ntl and vise versa.

NC = No Connections...I think

4010 is the best box for Davic. Only one chip to read for BK and there is a working anti-update mod to stop the latest CR3 update.

the boxes ending nc you will find dont carry the bypass needed to feed 1-5 off the ntl feed where as the n has a built in combiner
