Blue screen of death error
A friend of mine asked me to have a look at their pc. They have just downloaded and installed norton and it has caused this blue screen on every boot:
Stop: c0000262 (driver entry point not found) the \systemroot\system32\drivers\symids.sys device could not locate the ordinal 27 in driver symtdi.sys
Running windows 2000.
Will boot in safe mode but wont uninstall norton!!

Pfft -> Norton.Symantec is aware of this problem, and there is no solution at this time.
Send them a bill for your time and effort m8 - useless that!

Do you think they will pay? Better still do you think they will pay for the solution as I have now fixed it and am sitting typing on the machine!!

if you manage to sort it then ditch norton and turn to V-Com fix-it utilities, very very powerful and it doesnt bog your systems resources
