[HELP req] X3 install probs , any one offer any insight ?

Right , i finally decided to "get with the times" and treat me NTSC xbox to a Xecuter3 mod as i been using an old enigmah final mod and thought it would go like a breeze but unfortunately i hit problems

As a precaution i backed up my c+e to a safe place on me pc before i started.After stripping down the xbox i carefully removed the old enigmah mod and checked to see there was no solder spatters. I went for the pin header option and soldered it in . Next i carefully soldered the LAN , HD and d0 cables , so far so good.Next the bunch of black cables that goes to the external switch were carefukky threaded through and connected . The little addon board for the power/start buttons was next put into place and all associated wires connected to it .
Reassembled xbox and connected up the power , LAN cable and AV cables ( HD pack ) , powered up and sat back and waited for the fun to begin....

Switched on and i was met with a error screen and error code 16 ( which i think is something to do with dashboard issues ) .I get no activity on the l.e.d.'s on the external switch and i have no access to FTP or MS dash settings which is a right pain , worse still i cant get orig titles workin neither , just error 16 all the time .

So i really wanna know whats the best fix and way forward , any help really appreciated

mate as you know these things are only being delivered as of today, so i doubt you are gonna get much help on this forum, i reckon your best bet is to head over to the xcuter site and look at the faq for the x3, i will watch with intrest as mine is one the way :thumbs

i had this prob when i place a 2.6 chip in from a 2, after installin the latest slayers dashboard (sep04) on a larger drive.

I put my factory hdd in and got the cromwell bios screen.... but did not want to install it from that obviously. So I tried pullin a spare Hdd from OC with a clean format on it.
I stuck it in the xbox, and installed evox this way - knowing that a new bios will not recognise a brand new HDD for some reason

well after a bit of looking about and chekin a few pics on the net , i managed to find out that i hat 1 of the little 2 pin plugs in the wrong connector for the power/reset addon board *doh!* , sorted that then it allowed me to get the cromwell flash on the go and all seems fine

your wrong 1777 are on xbins and newsgroups.

Install was fine , after the header pin was soldered in i only needed another 3 solder points for the HD , LAN and d0 .

It can prolly be done in about 30mins if u got no other chip/mod to remove first but i still aint sure what the single red wire with connector on the end is for .... possibly something to do with v1.6 xbox's but im unsure

hi mate. just had a look at the install pictures on BB's site underneath the mother board their is 3 wires to solder to the motherboard is it one of them or is it maybe out of the multi wire harness. :nowords:

no m8 , its not that , its packed as a seperate wire and if u look on that overall pic (xecuter3bb.jpg) of the chip labelled "overview" just above the last "." in www.baldbouncer.co"."uk , there is a single connection poking out , i guess it goes there but dunno what for tho :nowords:

Had a quick look through and a lot of hard work has definately gone into it .

Its like having evox and more much more on a chip.

Going to be banging in a bigger HD tomorrow and a Samsung drive.
