Window Closing When Right Clicking A File

I have a problem which happened all of a sudden and now i cant right click a file. whenever i right click a file the window i am using closes and goes to the desktop just showing the background for about 3 seconds before showing all of my icons on the desktop. i have no idea what it is but if it helps it all happened when i extracted soul plane and tried watching it i noticed the problem just after i extracted the files into a folder and then selected all of the parts and right clicked it expecting the window to open. it also happens when i click file at the top of the window. for some reason though it only happens on files and not directories or the white background. i have run both adaware and spybot on the com lookin for the problem. please help me because i promise u if u go one day without using the right click function u will end up swearing more than ozzy osbourne.
