I'm thinking of buying a lightgun possibly two if there are enough games to warrant it, any suggestions of what guns to buy and what games are available that support them.

(17:18:34) (+Cam) i need to mount my xbox hdd in linux
(17:19:02) (+SpikeWork) youth of today, they'll mount anything
Anyone know if a light gun works on a projector?
lightguns work based on TV scanlines, so i very much doubt they would work on a projector, i know they dont work on rear projection tellys
those big momma house of the dead (not dawn as cam said )arcade machines work on rear proj TVs tho, so maybe it could work if the game was writen to do so
my rear projection sony worked on ps2 gun games but not with xbox ones
house of the dead keeps coming up, someone on another forum mentioned the X99L Laser Blaster by Logic3 as a good gun apparently it has has recoil (which is really good), machine gun mode, auto load, and a laser targeting system. (laser pointer).
anyone tried a gun with any emulators?
The three xbox games I know of that work with a light gun are...
House of the dead3
Starkey and Hutch
Silent Scope
However, With both HOD3 and S&H - I find the game actually plays better with the gamepad!
... and the "group released" version of Silent Scope doesn't seem to work with a light gun ( I actually posted another thread on the subject.... do a search on "silent scope")
I think Silent Scope only works with the sniper rifle doesn't it?
(sorry - haven't looked at the other thread)
Starkey and Hutch light gun is implemented really badly. Only player 2 can use the gun while player 1 drives. No good if you're playing on your own :|
This wasn't actually discussed in the other thread... but SS is supposed to work with all light guns. Here is a quote taken from a review..Originally Posted by debug77
"Players who are looking for another title in which to use their dusty light gun are in somewhat of a predicament with Silent Scope Complete. Playing Silent Scope with a Mad Catz Blaster yielded some mixed results. The basis of the Silent Scope franchise is precise shooting which a rifle can easily provide due to the stabilization provided by a shoulder stock. Expect to be all over the place with the scope unless you have a really steady hand when using any type of light pistol. The sighting is extremely sensitive in Complete, a feature which will make those with pistols looking for ways to fashion a gun stock out of an old broom and some duct tape. With a little practice it is possible to become quite proficient with a light pistol, but it ain’t easy. Gamers not planning on adding the Pelican heavy barrel to their gun rack will need to take their love for the Silent Scope series and their patience into consideration before purchasing Complete. "

The problem i had (and others) was that you couldn't get the gun sight to move at all !
Light guns dont work with projectors, ive tries with both the single and 3 gun models. Shame tho would be ****ing amazing

HOTD 3 plays fantastic with light guns (yeah and nicely with 2 guns on yer own too, thanks for that cam :whistle )
Silent scope does work with pistols, but it can be difficult, i found that it was quite playable by lying down and using a cushion to keep your arm steady, but ill probably get one of the rifles to see how much better it is
Not tried starsky and hutch though
standard light guns dont work with lcd tv's either, though you can get a newer kind that work with all tv's, they use a laser which faces towards you from the tv, which the gun reads for position info. SS does work with standard guns, but I had to turn the tv brightness up uncomfortably high to get it to work properly.
lol sorry about that... didnt realise the post was that old cos it was on the first page. It just happened to be something I knew about, so I answered. Godda get the post count up somehow
