runs ridge racer 2 and rave racer and yes the roms are publicly available although as always you must have an original arcade board before you are legaly entitled to hold a zipped romset
if you do have an original board then you can find the files you need on usenet in a.b.e.mame as long as your news server has decent retention (although to run them in mame requires your processor to walk on water) viva nonno does ok on a half decent processor
ABCMan,
Thanks alot for the reply, i can now see another expensive hobby starting up...

Hope you're not considering collecting arcade PCBs. I tried that once and ran out of space. The things are BIG and bloody awkward to store (I used Walkers Crisp boxes!)Originally Posted by bulletproof

Well, I had a Super Gun (something along the lines of this > http://www.arcadeheaven.co.uk/supergun.html )
But that let me play standard JAMMA boards. You can get convertors to convert bespoke connections to JAMMA connections. The thing was, that was ok for games that had a simple 8 way joystick and up to 6 buttons. The one I had didn't support analogue devices such as steering wheels etc... For that, I don't know. I think you have to build some device of your own or even buy the machine itself. Time to get on google and do some research
Worth mentioning too... the Super Gun lets you play arcade boards on a regular TV (i think it may have to support NTSC or 60 Htz but thats about it).
I had a six foot tall box arrive one day packed full of boards and neo geo carts. It was great!
have you got any left mate, would love to play tekken 3, or some of the daytonna usa arcade board... or even sega rally if it was possbile....
i think you are right m8, i need to do some research... thanks for all the help

Got rid of them a few years back, unfortunately. That url I gave you has a few for sale though their prices seem a bit more than I remember paying! (Im sure i paid less than ten quid for a few of them neo geo games!)
Had to get rid of them because they are BIG. Probably looking at a metre square for an average board. And they're just that, a PCB. Ugly as sin. Like this -> http://www.madocowain.com/Arcade/Macross/jammaboard_1_2.jpg
The capcom CPS system comes in nice colour boxes. Still bigger than an xbox though!
well you've *** lost me with your tech talk lmao
get the roms from http://www.emuasylum.com ENJOY!!!!!
hi m8,

Looks interesting. I found the Rage Racer dump for Mame - which works but it's not playable (info).
Can't find the Viva Nonno dump though.
EDIT: Just noticed this thread started in November last year!
