    Help COD. Gamepad ?

Hi everyone ? I am new to the forum and hope someone can help me with a couple of questions.

I am thinking of getting COD with the United offensive add on for my p.c.

Can I use a gamepad with the p.c. version? The assistant in my local Game store had no idea and there was no reference on the box.

I have seen an adapter to enable the use of one of my Playstation controllers on the p.c. Is this going to be any good?

Am I likley to get any problems with my system?

1.4 Athlon, 512 DDR memory and Ge force 2 64mb graphics card

How much bigger is the P.C. version over the PS2 version?

Or shall I just get the PS2 version?

Thanks and MERRY XMAS to everyone

Sorry for so many ? but I am a tight git and dont like spending money without finding out as much as poss first.

My old man got this game for his PC and wanted to play it with a gamepad, so I helped him set one up. There's a config file in the main directory - open it and there should be a joypad variable you can change to a '1' to turn on.

The trouble is that the game is impossible to play with a gamepad - it simply has not been designed to. There's no steady movement with an analogue pad - it just turns dead quick, so trying to precision shoot is just impossible. My advice is to forget about using a pad with COD.

About the PSX adapters, I use one its a Rockfire model and i use it with a PS2 pad, as long as you get the updated drivers (v4) it works generally brilliantly with all PC games, although this does depend on the game sometimes the right Analog is unavailable and the rumble function can be a bit iffy, find them on ebay usually around £10 inc.

Still prefer a mouse/keys with FPSs thou..
