    DO NOT use preventative puncture repair solutions (like slime etc etc) as you might not notice you have a puncture then go blatting down the road after your mates then have a catastrophic tyre failure (one came into the bike shop last week - wasnt pretty)

    just carry a rep&air kit- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    i have had to use these kits before and have now issued these kits to all my instructors.

    Don't risk scraping your knuckles when cleaning hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. Put your hand in an old sock and your new rag will get everywhere your fingers can.

    only ever used wd40 on my chains less messy than oil and never had any problems!

    bad idea, it doesnt cling to the inside of the chain rollers and so the wear rate is increased, also it can swell the o rings on an oring chain.
