ford focus engine management light

iv'e just bought a damaged 51 plate focus, the engine managment light is on and iv'e fixed the problem, i wondered if there is anyway of getting it off without taking it to the dealers ( ie free)

M8 u a member of the aa. Their vixen unit can clear the fault codes for you i should know i`m 1 of them ...

i am a member but i can't just ring em up and ask them to pop round and clear the codes! can i ?

Say engine management light on an you are afraid to drive incase you do any more damage.. And don`t forget to tip the patrol

drive for 12 miles if fault is gone light will clear itself

just to let you all know that the light did go off on it's own, but it was after about 200 miles.
