RE 4 crashes at the same place

Hello,

RE 4 crashes at the same spot everytime on both mine and my mates Cube. We are both using 0.3 bios and burnt the copies to Bulkpaq mini's so thats a common factor.

Its crashing with a reading disc error at the point just after the valley, where you have encountered the first travelling salesman. I have completed this setion and it goes to the screen were you get your % shots fired etc and it asks you if you want to save it - and then error reading disc.

Anyone else having this issue or got any suggestions
I am going to try another type of media.

i have been playing it and i am past the valley bit and gone through a few buidlings to where you get a cut scene of the chief grabbing you by the neck and lift you up thats using full size ritek media hope it helps.

thankt mate - thats the point I am talking about - I am burning the image to full size bulkpaq now as I dont have any ritek dye dvdr's.

OK burnt to full size bulkpaq oranges - still spins the disc down and read error at this point.
dye for fullsize disc is FUJIFILM03

I got a spindown and error just when it tried to load the cutscene for the first travelling salesman i rebooted started from my last save point and it was all good datawrie mini dvdr 1x is the media im using.

seems to me u need to use a good dvdr then, i wouldnt waste 5p on bulkpaq, if that was for 100 of em

Usually Bulkpaqs are great all my xbox stuff is have been on them for the last 2 years. Anyway reburned this to a old sony DVDR and it works fine now . One thing I will say.. DAMN!! Am I dissapointed in this game. dont get me wrong I am enjoying it and the graphics are great, good sound, the controls are good (better than usual Res evil) the boss's are brilliant BUT and its a big BUT ---

OI CAPCOM!!! WERE ARE THE PUZZLES ??? WERE ARE THE ITEMS TO COLLECT AND USE TO SOLVE THINGS ????!!!! THIS IS RES EVIL!! I know they are pushing it to a new level and they have done it but the puzzle were not a bad thing in the older res evil games THEY DIDNT NEED REMOVING CAPCOM!!

For any of you who have played this for 10mins - you have gotten the whole idea for the game more or less . . smash barrel collect 9mm ammo - repeat. Its a crying shame as this is a great game and this is what Res Evil needed to get out of the rut in was in , but without the puzzle/thinking element it is not as good as i expected.

I agree that it's not that difficult. Some of the creatures are fantastic and really fee big.
I'm still playing on disk 1 but must be getting close to the end of it. I do feel like I know where to go without thinking about it (It shows you on a map). Some of the sets are great though and I am really enjoying this adventure. They have made it more into an interactive movie than a game though and I find if I mess up on the first attempt I always get it right the second time - maybe this is it's greatest failing - the game doesn't seem to adapt to different styles of gameplay.

It's like on the fighting games of old where if someone chose a certain character they would always be superior to the other player.

Still, a top notch game that more developers could pay attention to. The graphics/effects really are geniunely amazing!

good to hear you have no problems with those discs. I should be getting my viper GC soon and i've got a few of these waiting for some action

Res Evil was flaky like I say though :-( I got to a point which was about 10 minutes from the save point and it would lock up. Tried twice - same thing - third time it flew through it. Might just need the pot tweak to improve the reading ability.

so is this a problem with the media?mine also crashes at a point right at the beginning,
ive tried riteksg05,dey didnt even boot, then i tried the prodisc dye,dey seem fine unitl the disc just spins down,or is this bios related,as i cant see hw it can be be media when it seems to be running all good at one point,oh yeah i got bios ver 0.4
