I have a friend who has a load of swf files that he created that he needs to convert to avi. Anyone any ideas on how to do this and if possible free?
Cheers in advance!

Not used it myself, but might be worth looking at. Trial version available and at the end of the day, it's only $30 for the full software (depending on how much he needs it!)
The only other way of doing it would be to export the swf out to a quicktime file using Flash, and then convert the quicktime file, but you are going to get a massive loss of quality

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
Cheers for this. We did try it earlier and it is crap unfortunately and I would have doceumented it but it was only tried very recently.Originally Posted by big man

Cheers dynamit. The thing costs $99 though and the tests we have just done with the free download put a message across the middle of the avi. Doh! Back to the drawing board.
bertroot,
tell ya mate to get flash mx 2004 (possibly mx does this too but v5 or lower doesnt) trial from macromedia website. you can directly export as AVI :thumbs
couldn't get any better than that!
I'm new to this
Thought you could only do it in there from the fla files and not the compiled swf. Is that not the case cos I ain't got it at work to try.Originally Posted by shangrula
