What ever happed to using good old iso connectors???

I think you've fried your stereo mate, either take it one of these car audio shops and see if they repair it otherwise you might have to bin it or sell it on ebay as a non-worker

try wiring it up to just an old battery and speaker , that way you wont fook the wiring on your own car if its the stereo at fault

What car were you trying to fit it to? Just bear in mind to use a multimeter as a red wire doesn't always mean +voltage

it has been sent away for repairs, was blowing fuses in it and the car without starting up so something is messed up, now waiting to hear what the damage will be!

Frazzl;ed parts are easy to spot but hard to identify as markings are burnt.but a search of manufactures site for scematic will soon id the offending component.a solder iron will soon replace it.

Open it, there should be a glass fuse inside.

If you saw a puff of smoke, the chances are that the smoke did not come from a blown fuse. Fuses are usually encapsulate in a body (usually Glass). It is more likely to be a transistor or a capacitor.
Look for hot dark patched around the circuit board. Or look for holes in surface mount transistor packages or erupted capacitors. Though the likely hood of this damage usually causes a knock-on effect of other component failure.
The damage usually surrounds the power supply circuitry ie, the first stage of electronics as the power cables enter the unit.

    Good Luck!!!
