Laptop LCD guru needed?

Hi guys,

As the old classic story goes.... I have a friend who has physically cracked their laptop screen.

I couldn't believe how easy it was to whip the broken item out, however I can't believe how difficult it is to find someone (in the UK) who can supply a new one at a half decent price. (especially considering it's not that old).

The screen (an 14.1 inch xga is made by AU Optronics and the model number is B141XN03 )

Now I have found a few places that will "repair" the laptop (for a silly price) but will not supply the parts (even one in sunny birmingham, whose web does say they supply parts... but they don't).

However, I cannot find a supplier of these screen for a half decent price.

I also know that there are other compatable screens (toshiba and samsung) that will work as a sutible replacement but I don't know model numbers.

What I am after is some LCD guru who know's his shit and gan get hold of parts

anyone know of anyone??

ive bought optronics screens before off ebay.. theres an au optronics B141X02 on there at the mo, may be compatible ? I know lots of them are..
