Windows Media player freezing

Hi,

I really hope someone can help out here.. I have done a fresh install of WinXp on a 2.8 P4 with 512mb DDR ram on my new machine at work. Everything went fine, except now when i open a MP3 in media player 10 it periodically cuts the sound out. The progess br of media player continues, but the sound doesn't. I have tried uploading some of the latest codecs, but still no joy. I have even searched for updated sound card driver (Legacy audio card - onboard), but still no joy. Hoping somone can throw some light on this matter..

Try installing version 9 then do an update to 10 maybe that will help:nowords:

I will have a go at that.. What i didn't do was test the system with media player 9 before upgrading.. What I do notice though is that it cus out in media palyer basic as well.... Weird....
