    Default RippeR GC - Info!

Seems like the speculation and rumours are getting official now! RippeR GC has been announcedtoday on the official RippeR site.

    04.03.2005
We have been a bit quiet lately but this was only the silence before the storm. We are proud to present to you our latest development: RIPPER GC. A brand new modchip for the Gamecube. Ripper-GC boots backups and importgames in a very easy way. No PC-Connection is required. Installationdiagrams, specs and more information is to follow very soon. Get in touch with your local distributors to make sure to be one of the first to have the very hot RIPPER-GC in your hands. First sales will start in the middle of the next week. Here are first pictures and you will recognize the genuine ripper-shape of modchips:

Will be purchasable from http://www.complexonline.co.uk/ when they open their online store in the future (argh, no dates always sucks)

Looks like very good news. It has more wires so i'd hope for more functions. If anyone gets more info please post it here...

the GC scene looks like it's just going to get bigger and better

(thanks to skel28 for the info)

edit: in fact it may not have more wires, I frogot about the lid sensor.

also this chip is NOT FLASHABLE. this makes me hope it's as good as a Cobra Bios V1 however if it isn't it's going to have a serious downside to it...only time will tell

There are even rumours about a non-swap modchip within 26 days...

same thing has been said on and off for the last few years tho, i wouldnt hold your breath

the ripper team are well known for "ripping" other chips off, apparently their last chip was just a clone of a DMS chip

i wouldnt be surprised if this was nothing more than a cheaper viper with an LED on the front

Why does the chip in those pics, have all the PS2 pads e.g. SCEX ? Is it a *** modchip ?

(dont even mention those things here or youll get the site shut down and Raptor sued -4me2)

just made cheaply. it looks like one but does GC type stuff...they just keep the cost down and pass that on to the people who didn't wanna fork out £40-£50 for a viper...that's all.

looks lame to me, the features sound very like the latest cobra bios so i presume it is just running the same code, so essentially its the same, it is cheaper but you have to buy an external flasher to update it

hmm, thats not really much cheaper then, makes it even less appealing that it already was, if it was like $25 then there would be a point

I was hoping it'd be a pricing error...but if it isn't then it wont do very well...

unless their special price means it's inflated, but that's not very speical at all :\

It's priced at €35 (bout £25) but when you click it, it adds the viper and the site doesn't look too proffesional lol.

humm it's €49.95 on my pc and adds the RippeR when I put it in the basket...

the site's also a good one, I think gamefreax has been around for a while, possibly a german site originally too, not sure...doesn't make much difference

    unless u went to http://www.complexonline.co.uk/catalog/

I dont know what they are on about either...

I would still go with the viper, and as the prices seem to be in the viper's favour it's better all round.

you would be unlucky to get a viper and have no games work but it's all reallt complicated to write about on here. Sorry, no ofence to you there are just a LOT of factors that can make a huge difference on the GC so it's really lengthy to type it all up...lol

    http://forums.maxconsole.com/forumdi...?s=&forumid=15

that's a wicked forum, u'll learn everything u need to know from there and i'm more than happy tohelp u out on here or there, I just don't have the energy to go through all 12 major factors that can make the difference between working and nonworking backup solution...

unless u wanna do real homebrew, then go for the viper hands down

    wired in to what?

it's wired into the lid sensor becuase it's just being cheaper than the viper, so cheaper methods...if u mean the whole chip...it has to be wired in to work
