no idea mate, it's all random speuclation untill it is though. apparently release groups now have a copy but thats probably bullshit.

I see the mods on maxconsole.com have closed their thread about it telling people to shut up until it's out, which maybe is fair enough but I think that's crap. Becuase of the developments of Qoob apparently being direct boot many are saying the Viper can do the same. Perhaps it's impossible, needs a few wires rehashed or can all be bios related but as very few of us know enough it's all guesswork untill we know for sure. but talking about it isn't exactly hurting anyone and they should be better mods for being able to moderate a discussion rather than feel powerful by closing it...but this isn't a rant, lol.

BAsically it's out when it's out, when it is out it'll be everywhere, including here so I guess all we can do is speculate and wait

what media, burner do u use,
where do u get images,
have u tweaked your laser
what bios u use?
i assume u own a ViperGC?

na you'd never do that, the mods here actually do the right thing every time...you guys should open a 'how to mod school' although it's summed up in 2 things:

1, read all the threads you can,
2, be intelligent

not necessarily in that order

What burner do you use (i.e. model number)
What is the Dye on your DVD-R (find using dvd decrypter)
What is your GC Drive revision number?
what NG images dont work, or what have u tried?

well your burner should be OK, check u have the latest firmware revision
media could esily be an issue, I havn't heard of varbatim beging too great, would probably be worth trying a G04 dye disc, (try neodiscs, they stock loads of them)
Might also be worth trying +R media too, just as i've read good reports

also try Cobra 0.3 or GCOS, well worth a try and can fix DRE problemsbooting problems.

The best thing to do is read everythng you can (on here and maxconsole) and don't take anything as gospal, regardless of who says it and whatever they claim to be (ok thats for maxconsole only). there are no real right answers or ultimate solutions, everything is different and they only way to fix it and get all DRE's gone is to know and test as much as you can (afford).

What lead do i need to go from the programmer to the PC?

i wouldn't use any, just get the GC close and plug the programmer directly into the PC.

I used a Belkin F>M cable and it gave me bad flashes, better off just getting it in there. Or flash from DVD-R (better compatibility when flashing, the GC will accept nearly anything for this job)

Oh by the way i am using mini dvdr,

should be fine, I use memorex mini dvd-r for loading dols and stuff and they are fine, but absolutly rubbish for games.

try full size media, once I did I never went back

Yeah but do u need to remove the lid with full size dvdr?

yep...but if you want your discs working easily then some full sized dvd-r and the lid off works a treat.

wait a few more weeks and there will be replacement lids too. The cost of the lids and DVD-/+R is still cheaper than using minis.
