    Default PCMCIA Driver for WinXP

This is my second post and I have a question for the gurus here. :nowords:
I noticed a great similarity between a hardware-card-holder that I unplugged from my digital satellite receiver and other PCMCIA cards that I happen to have a place for on my Laptop.
My Laptop is a Japanese advanced monster that has many features plus two ports for PCMCIA cards.
When I plugged in that “CAM” my laptop recognised it but failed to communicate with it asking for its HAL driver. Under device manager I was informed that the thing is “SCM DVB_CA_Module” (whatever that means)
So where can I find a driver that I can install on Windows XP to recognise memory cards plugged into that CAM so that I may study them further. I feel so ignorant on the subject and it is too bad for my health.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.:thumbs

In all hoestly, I think you'll be lucky to find a driver for this, by the sounds of it.

You wuld normally get the driver from the manufacturer of the hardware, however if it is not intended to be installed in a PC then they are unlikely to have produced one.

If they have produced one it is probably, only in use by the company who code the memory cards in order to prevent people from changing the contents of the cards.

I know this post isn't of much help to you, but I think it's worth pointing out that your probably barking up the wrong tree.

I guess you need to sign in for a free account.

Then again looking at the comments, it may not be genuine.
