    BUMP!

i have noticed that i am the only person i know who doesnt smoke, including a lady who's pregnant and my dad, both his parents dieing of lung cancer

what the hell is the appeal in starting? fair enough if you are already addicted but why do people start, they know they are just condemming themselves to a life of standing outside in the rain.

i know someone who is just starting just now, someone i never thought would smoke and i looked up this thread so that i could show her the pictures, and realised that bumping it might be a good idea to make people think a little bit harder about whether they really want to start

everyone who smokes wants to stop and most have tried at some point, you wont find many smokers who say they are glad they started.

    Don't generalise.

I love my cigs and love standing outside whatever the weather. My cig is a welcome friend when I wake up and keeps me company when I drive to work. My 'friend' also helps break up my otherwise tiresome day at work and provides light relief at night.

Oh, and I have another 'friend'. Beer :whistle

I agree. I had a friend who absolutely loved smoking and that was that. She was fully aware of the risks and made a conscious decision like other adults that smoke to do as they please. TwoPlanks do you do nothing you like that is harmful?

I cycle 10 miles a day up and down busy roads. Harmful? Possibly.
    I snowboard. Harmful? Possibly.
    I skateboard. Harmful? Possibly.
    I drink. Harmful? Definitely.

The list goes on and on. Life is what you make it and if tht invovles risks/dangers then all the better at least ou know you will have done all the things you wanted and if that involves a horrible death then so be it.

I just gave up last week, and I love smoking but I know that its bad for me and thats why I'm stopping. I dont wanna be impotent at 30, or never be able to have a kid, and I dont particlarly like smelling all the god damn time either. Plus by stopping I can taste food again!! and i'm saving a packet!! (geddit .....packat hahahahaha I crack me up)

i admit i shouldnt have generalised, obviously some people actually do enjoy smoking

its all to do with risk assesment - the buzz from snowboarding or the health/need to travel for cycling outweighs the risk. smoking just seems to have less advantages than disadvantages

and you have to admit that MOST people do want to stop, even though some people dont making my generalisation wrong (which i should have noticed at the time really, didnt mean to generalise like that)

How about if you do want to stop, but enjoy it?

I hate fooking hate smoking but lifes too short to worry about these things... if people want to smoke cancer sticks then its fine by me as long as I dont have to share it!

So for all you smokers out there - here are some new labels to stick on your fag boxes...they are a little old:

    smoke labels 1
    smoke labels 2
    smoke labels 3
    smoke labels 4
    smoke labels 5
    smoke labels 6
