i just heard this, aparently its going to be in the papers tomorrow.
an asylum seeker who was housed in her free fully furnished house in wigan is suing greater manchester council for the depression she claims was caused by being housed there.
it seems that shes demanding recompense for the emotional distress that brought on the depression, so what you may ask is the problem?
well, it seems that wigan is, or at least her case aginst the council is that she wants to be rehoused in london in order to lift her depression, and of course compensation for the distress of having to live "up north"
personaly i've a better idea, teach her the english for "beggars cant be choosers" then pack her up, stick her on a plane and send her back where she came from, that way she can sue her own government for the distress she is being caused and see how far she gets.
