    Attention Amityville Horror

Went to watch this last night, first time I've been to watch a film the day it comes out.

Some really good acting, especially from Ryan Renolds. Not a majorly scary film but some good parts that make you jump (I thought so anyways). I thought however it was a bit slow to start and then the climax was over to quick, bit annoying! But the explanation as to what is happening and why is quite interesting.

Overall I think that film wasn't too bad, was a good film, had a good storyline and since its based on true events, its even more wierd.

I'd advise watching it, especially if you've ben dissapointed by the latest lot of scary films such as 'BoogeyMan' and possibly 'Ring 2'.

I give it 8/10 ... Go watch it!

Havnt seen the original, and thought this was OK.
OK,in the sense that its "a true story".........lol

The whole Amityville thing is a sham, but as a horror film it just about gets there.
Dark scenes, moody music and a couple of jumpy bits.

Please no more "based on a true story"....

    5/10

It wasn't bad. Impressed with Melissa George (Angel from home and away)

Much better than trash like Jeepers Creepers, The Others, Saw... In saying that if you wanna be scared and don't scare easy give it a miss.

If you are after the best horror ever made, then give it a miss, but if you've got 90 mins to spare, it's worth a watch.

    A solid 7 / 10

Didn't like this, enough with the flies and blood coming out of the walls. Predictable and repetiteve to the genre.

    4/10

See The Others (Alejandro Amenábar) or The Devil's Backbone (Guillermo del Toro) instead, if you haven't already.

Was ok. Origional film is still better but considering it is based on a true story it adds to the tension. Angel out of Home and Away looks fine :thumbs

    6/10 just for her!!

I thought this was a good way to spend 90 mins....pretty standard horror flick

I did appreciate the fact that when they got to the end of the film, it actually ended, and the bad guy didn't get back up after being seemingly dead, 10 times over (urgh...dirty Hollowman memories seeping through)

Didn't want to watch this for the obvious reason (not another re-make!!), but the wife did so I sat through it. Big pile of steaming Hotspur. Rubbish, didn't make me jump and I was bored. Have only seen Ryan Reynolds in 2 film's, this and Blade Trinity. What can this guy do other than spend a long time in the gym?
