Well, I would imagine the prices will be cheaper right now, and maybe worth considering. You can always purchase a third party renewable warranty with the saving you make on the list price of the car.

I've had a MG ZR for 4 months and obviously have no warranty now. Looking around, though, I can pick up a 2 year extendable "warranty" for £930. It's only an insurance policy when all's said and done.

be careful, most after market warranties don't allow for claims of more than a thousand pounds and exclude parts such as belts etc... Cam belts in the old MGF (or metro engine for those in the know "Rover K series engine") are only gauranteed by the manufacturers for 20 minutes running time. I kid you not.

Dixon motors purchased £3.5 million worth of Overs just before the crash.
They are selling them at a good discount and are offering them with their own 3 year warranty.

I was speaking to a friend at a car pitch today who said he had received a fax from one of his suppliers offering brand new Overs with no warranty at nearly half price.

I've just come back from the car auctions in the hope of bagging a few cheapies, but the prices were still keen. How long that will last is debatable though.

I have also received a news bulletin stating that as the parts supply of Overs was run as a seperate entity by Caterpillar, the parts supply will remain uneffected and will continue as normal.
    Again thats debatable.

I was at a local car auction this week and rovers were also going through in droves, people were snapping up fairly recent ones as well at what I consider "low" prices for the cars and their ages, makes for a tempting purchase I thought at the time, although in the end I bought myself a Peugeot 306.

I know 2 dealers who took up the £300k for 3 years franchise deal..

They're going to be selling their Rovers off "cheap" with a full 3 year RAC or AA warranty just to get shot so they can get some space for proper cars..

Wished we had taken Rover up on their offer now, 300K would of been nice for less than a year selling that tripe

Care to share the dealer info M8 ? My Mrs (bless her sad misguided soul) has set her heart on a new MG ZR . Sod the warranty, I'll buy an AA one for her.

Well these are in London mate, bit far from you and currently they're getting rid with 30% off which isn't really working so give it time and it will get to 40-50% i'm sure for everyones last bits of stock..

If the basic discount is 30% i'm sure if you walked in there with cash and demanded 35 or even 40% off you'd come out smiling with the keys.

TBH, if you knew the right people before they went bust you could of picked up one any time of a week in Belgium for 47% off... To be frank with you, even at half price i would be very very concerned about owning one.
