no emails

hi guys

cant send or receive email in outlook express just keep getting timed out

have the correct setting ie pop3.blueyonder.co.uk etc
connection lan

have the exact same email account on the kids pc and these go thru ok
have check setting on both to compare are r the same even check nortons etc set the same

totally lost only thing i have done that i can remember is installed windows updates but did this also on the kids pc so cant be that ....pull my hair out
these are the timeout errors

in outlook
i click send / rec and ststus is executing

a timeout occurred while communicating with the server account pop3.blueyonder.co.uk server pop3.blueyonder.co.uk protocol POP3 port 110 error number 0x00 etc

Disable nortons and try again then you will narrow it down a bit.

Its probably the firewall settings.

was nortons after i disabled emails ok but what setting do i need to change so i can use nortons have checked but not sure what to change .............settings the same on the other pc and its ok

i would bin norton and get a decent firewall first.

sygate is my current fave.

Cant help you with Nortons M8 i wont use it.Too system hungry so i use Zonealam Pro

But there are many good one out there and most Free, and all better than Nortons.

As marcode says sygate is good but its your choice.

right binned nortons best idea yet ..........system running well better ......now using avg anti virus. sygate firewall and microsoft spyware..................thanx guys..............
