    Question help with com ports

When I run a program that wants to use a com port it tells me com1 is in use,
but there are no leads in it, or programs running that would use it,
(as far as I can tell anyway) how can I find out what the problem is? com2 is ok..

    Cheers

No there is no modem, I am on broadband and that is USB,
yes it can use com2 but it means I have to disconect another bit of hardware to use it, so I wanted to free com1 of whatever is using it...
