Default any other way of charging psp??

hi all i have a us psp and it will not charge i have put the cable in to the bottom of the psp but no orange light even tried it with out the battery in just using the mains power but still no good i have measured the voltage coming in to the psp via a avo and its 5v dc under the battery near the void sticker so i think that is at fault i was just wondering if there was any other way of charging the battery say if you have a spare one on charge and one in the psp???
