HP Toner use by date???

Hi,

Can anyone help me with identifying if there is a use by date for HP Toners or other toners in general.

I'm selling a few on ebay, but none of the boxes have sell by dates or use by dates, they are all unopened and was wondering if anyone knows how to find out if they're still good to use without opening the box and trying them.

HP toners do not have an expiry date in or on the box (like normal ink ones) as its only powder. I have just checked my C7115A to confirm and there are definately no dates on show anywhere (except the one which shows when the box was created (not the contents) and that its copyrighted to HP - mine is showing 2004)

By there being no date a would guess that it doesn't expire. I done a search and somewhere said that some HP chips have a last used date (which is set when it leaves the factory) and then a use by date which is 15 months on some chips and 30 months on others.

You would have thought they would put a date on the box though so people know which ones should be used before others.

From the link to the HP website, it looks like all Toner cartridges are now Exiration Date free and carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
