The clubs in Super League are expected to debate a proposal to expand rugby league's top flight from 12 to 14 teams on Wednesday.
Leading rugby league officials will present the results of a wide-ranging review to club officials at a Super League summit in St Helens.
The results of the meeting will be announced on Thursday.
Any change is unlikely this season, which will see two clubs relegated to allow Perpignan's inclusion.
Would make more sense and then having clubs play eachother home and away once. I reckon they will try and squeeze in another French club.
