Select the programmes you want from the tvguide>sky+ planner press red (copy) start your recorder and away you go.
If you mean copying direct from the drive, the answer is no you can't

If you have a separate PVR you may be record direct from the SKy+ box. However those recordings or broadcasts that have Macrovision or equivalent protection will be unwatchable.
    IT people slash forward.

Also, lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part....

The main problem being that the sky plus alegedly records the raw encrypted sat stream, so any recordings lifted would be unwatchable

Sky are brining out a portable Media Player this year called Sky to Go, so do you think that this will have some sort of decoder built in? Or will they start to not encypt them?

there is an option to copy direct to Video, as mentioned. But that is all. Select 'Copy' from 'Sky+ Planner'. Some video recorders start to record automatically when this feature is used, it depends it is enabled i suppose.

Haven't ever tried it myself though

from what i can gather the skyplus recording are encrypted in videoguard.

Only way round this would be to use your official card in a dreambox and stream to a PC or internal hard disk then dump it to the PC.
