Any Printer repair specialists? Epson C44

my very un trusty epson has broke down again, well, i broke it when i was trying to clean the ink pads out following instructions off a site, anyway, the following piece has broken off from somewhere....

anyone got an idea where its come from? its about 5mm across

I've got a service manual for the c40 mate, not the c44.. and had a look, but can't see that component on it.. have you tried to fire it up and see if it works?

yeah ive tried it but it just continously says theres paper jammed and keep spitting A4 at me, i was close to hurling it out the window, i think ill send it to the dustbin and pick up another cheapo canon or somethin

I would not buy another epson, I have a c42 the ink ran out and I rather buy a new printer.

Bollox, Epson are one of the most reliable.

Buy a new printer, they are cheap as chips these days. Epson R200 is about �40-50 now and mine has run without any hassle for the last 2 years...

ive had cheap epson and canon and they never really last very long, i wouldnt say either are reliable, ive ordered a canon 1000 somethin, colour ink is �2, black is 60p, cant really complain if it only lasts a year or so like this epson did
