Default Disable WMP10 right click shell integration?

anyone know how to remove the right click shell integration for windows media player 10?

i use dbpoweramp which has its own right click shell integration options and my right click menu is fucking massive largely thanks to wmp and winrar.

any way to shift the wmp ones from the right click menu, such as:
    Add to Sync List
    Add to Burn List
    Add to Now Playing List
    Add to Playlist
    Play with Media Player

its a rediculous number of options to have when i dont even use WMP for anything.

i did read something on neowin about a fix but it sounded as if it stopped media playing with wmp totally. id rather have the option to use it even tho i use windows media player classic for vid files and dbpoweramp for mp3s.

    any help?

    You comfortable using regedit?

    Backup your registry first

Open regedit and click to open HKCR. Scroll down beyond the list of file associations until you get to the key "wmpfile". Open that to find the shell key. Open that and you'll see generic class pointers, including those you wish to delete. Simply delete the keys.

I don't have wmp connected to anything (wma, wmv mp3 etc) so I can't give a screeny.

i have no probs editing registry

but when i get to wmpfile>shell>open>command... none of those have anything in them that looks like what im looking for, at work atm so i cant really do screens, ill try later, but the only things i can see are a few bits and bobs pointing to klite codec pack and media player classic.... :-/

nothing resembling file associations or shell integration etc

    cheers for the reply tho

You've gone too far in. Hold the focus on the shell tree and it should all show up in the right hand pane, including the open. Don't worry if the subkeys "Add to" etc don't seem exactly word-for-word, as their classkey identifies the actual text that appears in context.

That's interesting as you don't even have a "Play" key or a "shellx" tree ?

    I'll do some more thinking.

does tools> folder options then edit the file types to remove the options not work? a little tedius but you'd only need to do it to the formats you use most
