Default Changing Partitions on HD - problems

Ok win XP, two int HD's both partitioned into three parts.

I discovered on my main HD i seem to have 2gb not allocated.

I googled for some help. i found laods of guides on how to set up a new HD and set the partitions but nothing on how to adjust the partitons.

If i explore the unallocated partition it asks if i want to create a new partition, there does nto seem to be a way of adding it to an exisitng on (on that same HD (or any clearly)

Also on my other HD, i would liek to get rid of one of the partitions and share it amoungst the other two.

I used partition magic before, this was very easy, but when i try and use this it says the drive is not recognised or something, this is something i have now uninstaled and reinstalled, does nto seem to make a difference.

    All are formated in NTFC.

I am not afriad to admit i am a simpleton when it comes to this type of IT, i really need pictures as well as a bullet point guide explaining the way through.

If anyone can point my to some decent links for adjusting partitions i woudl greatly appreciate it.

Please let em know if there is any other info needed to help with this.

    Cheers.....Q

You'll need something like Partition Magic to resize/merge etc the existing partitions without losing data. Otherwise it's a case of repartitioning the drives.

*edit* must learn to read properly, didn't see you'd already tried PM :whistle.

    IDE drive.

i have almost resigned myself to a reinstall, sort of a forced house keeping really, not a bad thing over all BUT if it can be avoided easily (bit of a laugh coming from me) then great.

I will install partition maginc again and let you knwo what the error message was. Perhaps i am missing a settgin somewhere.

    Cheers.....Q

If it's IDE, then PM should have no trouble.... Post the Error message first before you start wiping..
