XMame for PSP v0.0

MAME is an arcade machine emulator. Started in 1997 by Nicola Salmoria, MAME started out as a series of emulators for individual games. This series of emulators was combined into a simgle multi-game emulator. This is the current form of MAME; no longer a one-man show, there are over 100 contributors to the project. Here is a link to the xmame project.

MAME is considered the holy grail of emulators since there is well over 5000 games out there playable on the MAME emulator. At this time it does not work on the PSP but does infact work on the PSP Emulator (pspe v0.8 or later) so expect this to work on the PSP shortly.

You can download it in our PSP Downloads area here (there was a minor update and a source revision both included).

Note: At this time it does not work on PSP hardware and only works on one game (Omega Fighter) but this is a glimpse at what is to come.

Usage: Press F2 to insert coin. Press F1 to start game. Press left arrow then right arrow to answer the OK request. Press D to fire, arrows to move.

XMame v0.1 for PSP

The PSP Wiki devvers have now updated thier release of their Mame Port to the PSP, the author claims it now works on hardware, ive tested this myself and i get as far as the screen where it says press OK, but it then goes back to the PSP menu screen when you do so unless my rom is faulty i cant say. Heres a screenshot of it running on hardware:

The emulator still supports only one game but we do have high hopes for this one.
