karma chameleon..?

Crap title I know.

Seeing that there are allot of members with max Karma, is there any way of increasing the scale/rating members get?

Did a thread about this a while ago but it seems to have disappeared now. The ratings were published in there and it made good reading. 2000 was a the top one with Reputation beyond Repute but I would have liked to have seen ones for 3000, 4000 etc to go with these. Dunno if VBulletins only implement a certain number of possibilities. Shambles suggested gold blobs and I think the thread turned up some good ideas.

i've been thinking about this...maybe it's worth ditching the karma system compleatly in exchage for the old DF Dollah, might be better...?

i think there were problems with the old dollar system. that was one of the reasons it got scrapped

oh i had a thought, dot know if its possible, but is there a way to show actual amount of karma received on the user thingamy at the side of posts , u know that thing <<<<< over there. but is it possible, always wondered just how many karma points some of you have :whistle

I kept track of how much karma people give out in one go for a day or so and have found that it does not relate to the post describing how it works in this section. Flump said that it was 1 per 100 posts + 1 per blob you own. Not correct in my experience. I got 40 odd off someone yesterday and doing the sums I should have got 20. Strange. Someone told me they got 90 off me the other day as well and that definitely doesn't add up. Strange.

There is still some surplus there though cos I ain't got 9000 karma. I tried doing a few sums to get that value and nothing I do adds up. Don't know if there might be some addition for being a VIP though. :nowords:

It is based on time you have been a member, how many post and karma rating.

It looks like 1 for each 100 posts, 1 for each each 100 points of karma and 1 for each year or partial year.
