Video looks pretty legit
seems like a lot to put on the line for ps2ownz but i thought others would wanna know who thinks this is fake or real...i am not convinced yet- i wanna see the code.Update: I saw this at Ps2nfo and they appear to be putting thier rep on the line for this so maybe this is real,
"CybBlade of our Forums (and iRC EFnet #PS2Ownz) confirmed tonight that PsP-Dev now have a working v1.50 exploit for running "homebrew" or unsigned code from it, similar to what NEM did for v1.00 firmware PSP users. A brief video of this in action can be found on their Web site HERE for those interested, and on 6/15/2005 (15:00 GTM+1) they plan to publically disclose the method used in Tutorial format to the world! We at Team PS2NFO congratulate our Spanish affiliates, and look forward to LOTS of nice "homebrew" releases to follow along with even more UMD dumps! Please post all related feedback on this VERY COOL news in THIS on-going Forum thread. Finally, we'd like to make it known that the legitimacy of this news has already been 100% confirmed by myself via high-ranking scene elders... so no, this is NOT another "fake video" nor publicity stunt- it's REAL!"
Did you notice that it's a bit sketchy on the white PSP booting animation? i'm not sure if i belive it yet
3 days and counting...
just need a iso player now
BP
Seen too many of these video's to believe this is gonna be genuine. The rest have all turned out to be fake so i'm not getting my hopes up too high! I think it's gonna be a long 3 days.
I'd say wait till Wednesday
Homebrew on 1.5 isn't that unbelivable, but still, wait until Wednesday.
How many times have these kind of things, be it emulators, "online ds tunneling", etc... said they'll be released on such and such a date? That date always comes and goes then it transpires to have been fake. I'll believe it when I see it.
Update #2 : PaWsTick from the PsP-Dev TEAM has now confirmed that to their exploit does NOT run one v1.51 firmware either, so $$ony did has Nice quick job of fixing to their 1.50 holes it appears. One the bright side, many in the the USA already cuts has v1.50 PSP... and those who don' T edge still run out and grab one without the fear of it being has later firmware version for the time being.
Update : PaWsTick from the PsP-Dev TEAM has now confirmed that to their exploit does NOT run one v1.52 firmware. They haven' T tested it one v1.51 yet, goal rest assured we' ll mirror has news update here with the results when they C. I' m glad I didn' T update my firmware though beyond v1.50 just in box.
^ from ps2nfo
So it doesn't work on 1.51 or 1.52, sorry about the confusion.

Mandatory firmware updates from sony
Update #3: Even more UMD Dumps surface (detailed below)... we'll post the related FileList.txt and Image Sizes from the releases as they become available. Thus far, only three exceed the capacity of the 1GB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro DUO many of us have, however, today the 2GB Pro DUO Memory Stick has officially been released. Stay tuned to this thread until then for further updates and enjoy!
Update #2: According to this IGN.com article, in addition to the voluntary v1.52 PSP firmware update (see below) to fix the current security holes, future UMD titles will also include it built-in as a mandatory automatic update. The problem with this is it was bad enough new titles such as Space Invaders Pocket (JAP) already include a Version Checker that prompts you to update your firmware (from v1.00 in this case) in order to run the game, but now it appears $ony decided to include it on the UMD disc itself to alter one's firmware without consent during the normal course of a loading a new PSP game. Unfortunately, this nasty tactic gives educated PSP owners less of a reason to invest in new PSP titles.
Update: As a result of all the recent PSP developments, it appears $ony is attempting to combat them via firmware updates! Today Firmware Update v1.52 has been released which claims to add support for Music UMDs as well as fix some 'security' issues. As always, we recommend you do NOT upgrade your PSP yet... if you are wondering why just ask any PSP v1.00 owner.
Today more PSP UMD Dumps have been released as a result of the PSP UMD Dumper Utility being publically available. Titles are listed below, complete with filesizes and the FileList.txt generated from IsoBuster for each! Those interested can post all related feedback in THIS on-going Forum thread.
wonder how long I'm gonna have to wait to finalize if I will get a psp, if a method to play cracked games comes out i'll be down the shop like a wippit. No way I'm spending £20-40 on each game which won't even be played that much
This was posted by PaWsTick one of the supposed people behind the 1.5 exploit. Doesn't really prove if its genuine but its a nice teaser.
it's a tease of some sorts.
so some of them do sit in rooms that are not pitch black, why can't this dude make a video of it. Would at least make me begin to think this is more real. Also what's with reading the instructions on how to use it...surely they mean read up on how to push O or X to execute and then the home button to quit? Where's the space for complications? Unless they mean instructions on how to inject it into other apps...
oh well, it is better than nothing :thumbs
pictures mean nothing.
you all saw how easy i made them tomb raider shots.
could be true... but dont be f00led.
I think i can safely say, asoon as this thing is probally hacked and that, the sales are going to boom agian and we all will be very happy
That picture espeically means nothing. You can get to that point on any PSP, it'll just start to boot and then crash (as far as i am aware from seeing other user videos, i've got a 1.0 so i wouldn't know )
on a seperate note and something to laugh (slightly) over I read on another forum about a guy who's friend got a PSP and proclaimed that it was the best becuase he flash his crappy 1.0 to 1.52 so in theory it was better than his...lol, oops
I think that picture might be a load of crap anyway.
Looking on one of the Spanish forums where the exploit was originally announced people are posting pics of their design of the loader. Seems they are being knocked up in photoshop mebbe :nowords:
yea ur right
lol well that's just crap, they didn't even make a battery bar...losers
