    Default Hotmail asking for password

anyone having intermittent issues with hotmail recently when picking up mail using outlook?

every few days as of the last few weeks, it will randomly start popping up the confim password box as if the pass is wrong. and this isnt a new account, its about 5 years old so its still supported through outlook (im using office 11).

yesterday the pass was correct and it was picking up my (junk)mail no problem (i only collect the mail to keep it active lol.. dont actually use it for anything other than shite) 20 mins ago the damn thing starts asking for the password, hit cancel a few times and it goes away, but its annoying, because outlook wont pick up new mail until you either hit ok or cancel on the password box, so it just sticks in the middle of the mail pickups. after hitting cancel its now picking up mail fine again, and i didnt alter the password that was already there. grr

Yes absolutely. When I start Outlook 2003 the last 4 days it's reporting that "Outlook has failed to connect to hotmail; the account is now operating offline".

Click File then Connect and it finds the bugger and logs in.

Cannot access my free Hotmail account from Outlook or Outlook Express

To protect our users from the increasing amount of unsolicited junk e-mail or spam sent from MSN Hotmail accounts through Outlook and Outlook Express, we have reluctantly had to restrict the new use of Outlook and Outlook Express to subscribers.

By making this feature part of a subscription, (which requires a user to provide billing information), we can more effectively manage and put a stop to abuse of this functionality, and help protect you and others from unsolicited mail.

If you purchase a subscription service such as MSN Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium, you get access to your account from Outlook or Outlook Express, along with many other added features. To see other benefits of upgrading your MSN Hotmail or MSN accounts or to create a new subscription account please visit our subscription information page.
thats on their help page... seems they have made it subscribe only for outlook.... but as far as i was aware they were only disabling outlook mail pickup for new users, current subscribers would still be allowed to use outlook.

    fucking cunts.
